1.Choose the right location

The location is one of the most important aspects of any event. Consider a venue that offers both indoor and outdoor spaces to accommodate any changes in weather. Look for a venue with air conditioning to keep your guests comfortable in the heat. If your ceremony or reception is outdoors, provide shade for your guests with stylish cover such as Signature Rentals French fringed parasol, or a covered pavilion. Should you wish to explore the option of erecting a marquee for your event, we recommend consulting a planner, such as Maria Reidy Events, with a wealth of professional experience in managing marquee builds and events.

2. Set a budget

Before you start planning your event, set a budget. This will help you to determine what you can afford and what you need to cut back on. Be realistic with your budget and remember that many initial supplier quotes are exclusive of VAT, so we advise you to be mindful of that when planning your event / wedding.

3. Decide on a theme

A theme can help tie your event together and make it more memorable for your guests. Choose a theme appropriate for the occasion and venue that will appeal to your guests. Signature Rentals has a range of beautiful rattan furniture perfect for outdoor celebrations. Embrace the season by incorporating seasonal flowers and decor into your wedding theme. Think of bright, vibrant colors and fresh floral arrangements. Add some stylish shelter from the sun to your outdoor celebration with French fringed parasols. When choosing your tablescape, you can add pops of colour by incorporating in colorful glassware, tealight holders, or bright taper candles.

 4. Plan the menu

Food and drinks are an important part of any event. Decide on a menu that is appropriate for the occasion and that will appeal to your guests. For Summer months, think of lighter seasonal bites if the weather is hot. Provide plenty of cold drinks and water stations for your guests to stay hydrated. Signature Rentals portable white bar, and antler champagne buckets are ideal for hosting a party this Summer.

5. Organise entertainment

Whether it is music, games, or other activities, entertainment is an important part of any event. Choose entertainment that is appropriate for your guests and that fits in with your budget. When it comes to outdoor events, remember to be considerate of your neighbours regarding the noise levels. Your guests will enjoy soaking up the atmosphere as the band sings, or DJ plays your favourite music. Signature Rentals colourful cushions will add more vibrancy to your outdoor furnishings, and new rattan console table works perfectly as a drinks table or a mini bar display.

6. Send out invitations

Once you have all the details of your event planned, send out invitations to your guests. Make sure to include all the valuable information, such as the date, time, location, and dress code. The Summer months are always incredibly busy, so it is important to send out RSVPs in advance to ensure your guests will be able to attend.

7. Prepare

No matter how well you plan your event, there are always potential issues that can arise. Be prepared for unexpected weather changes by having a backup plan in case of rain or extreme heat. Your venue coordinator, or event planner will be able to best advise on both a Plan A and a Plan B to suit your occasion. Having sunscreen or paper fans available to guests is a thoughtful gesture for a sunny day and can provide extra comfort for them to enjoy the celebrations. Summer is also the season for bugs, so a top tip is to have citronella candles lighting or bug spray on hand for your guests.
